Principal's Message
Welcome to the Gresham High School Website.
I am John Koch and I have been the principal at GHS since July of 2010. My hope is that your visit to our site today is helpful and that you log out with a positive impression of our school. We are proud of our work and hope to share it with whoever will listen!

As you negotiate through the information keep in mind that the staff, students, and parents at Gresham High School are proud of their century long tradition of academic, athletic, and activity excellence. However, we do understand that an excellent past does not presuppose an excellent future. Therefore, we view our school as a constant work in progress. In other words, we understand that the dynamic nature of the world around us requires that Gresham High School constantly strive to improve in all areas. The staff and students here have embraced this concept of improvement and are constantly self reflective about our performance. As community members or students we welcome your input regarding our work because it is key to our ability to improve.

Gresham High School is a comprehensive high school that offers a wide range of instructional opportunities including an International Baccalaureate World School program, AVID, and honors classes.  Through a partnership with Metropolitan Family Service we also offer an extensive after school program entitled School Unitiing Neighborhoods.  Students and families that take advantage of this program can participate in interest-based classes as well as credit recovery.  Gresham High School is also a member of the Mt. Hood Conference therefore our athletic and activities programs, including a wide range of school sponsored clubs, are offered here as well.  We encourage all students to take advantage of the programs we offer.

Finally, our daily operation in school and around the community, is founded on REAL: Respect, Excellence, Accountability, and Leadership. The REAL concept was developed cooperatively by teachers, students, and parents to provide a foundation for how we do business. Through regular instruction and constant reflection our goal is for our students and staff to model these concepts now and into adulthood.

Thank you very much for your visit and support. We could not succeed without you.

Best Regards,

John Koch
